Ghazali Mat Ariff

He is Member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He attended the Council of Legal Education (London) and qualified as Barrister-At-Law and was called to the English Bar on 21 November 1978. He was admitted as Advocate and Solicitor at the High Court Malaya on 27 September 1979. He started his career as a college trained teacher at Sekolah Menengah Chung Hwa Confucian, Jalan Maxwell, Penang from 1962 to 1968 before taking up appointment as a lecturer at Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Teachers’ College, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 1968 to 1974. He then left for London to read law in 1974, after which he joined Messrs Nik Hussain Ibrahim & Abdullah as a Legal Assistant and in 1980, he left the firm to set up his own practice under the name and style of Messrs Ghazali Ariff & Partners of which he is the Senior Partner of the firm. He is also a Director of Advanced Packaging Technology (M) Berhad and a Director of Amalgamated Industrial Steel Berhad, both companies are listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. In Advanced Packaging Technology (M) Berhad; he is the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee. In Amalgamated Industrial Steel Berhad, Dato’ Ghazali also serves as a Board member as well as a Chairman to the Remuneration Committee and Employees’ Share Option Scheme Committee. He also sits on the board of Timah Langat Holdings Berhad.
