Sarawak Roads in poor condition despite millions spent
The Auditor General attributes the problem to poor maintenance and lack of monitoring from the Public Works Department.
The Auditor-General’s report states that a total of RM462.46 million has been allocated to build and repair the roads from 2005 to 2010 but the roads continue to suffer from structural problems.
The roads mentioned in the audit are Jalan Sibu/ Miri, Jalan Sibu/Bintulu and Jalan Bakun.
